Idol group BEAST proves their continuing popularity in Japan by reaching No. 1 on the Oricon Singles Chart, according to their agency Cube Entertainment on November 29.
Their new Japanese single, “Saigo no Hitokoto (The Last
Word),” was released on November 27. In the first day, it recorded
35,000 sales and topped the Oricon Daily Single Rankings.
According to
Cube Entertainment, sales are now approaching 50,000.
BEAST founded an independent label in Japan called BEAST MUSIC in
March and began a monthly project to release a new single consecutively
for the next ten months. “The Last Word” is the latest single released
in the project and the song is a sad autumn ballad about a man who
wishes to express his feelings but finds himself unable to do so.
Their first single “One,” followed by “Hands Up,” “Can’t
Wait to Love You,” and now “The Last Word” topped Japan’s iTunes chart
as well as the Oricon charts.
BEAST is currently preparing for their Japanese tour.
Their agency reported, “BEAST will be meeting over 30,000 people through
twelve concerts in eight locations in their upcoming Japan tour.
Through the performances we hope to deliver BEAST’s unique, powerful
energy to their Japanese fans.”
