‘Splash Splash Love’ Yoon Du Jun proved him as a ‘next generation romantic comedy King’

Yoon Du Jun of BEAST appearing at MBC establishment commemorative drama ‘Splash Splash Love’ (Script written and directed by Kim Ji-hyun) proved him as a ‘King of the romantic comedy’ who can act freely between romance and comics.
Yoon Du Jun acted for young king Lee Do at the first episode of ‘Splash Splash Love’ unveiled with 80 minutes long full version at midnight on December 13 and presented mysteric romance with ‘Sky Child’ Jang Dan-bi (a role played by Kim Seul-ki) who fall down from the sky during ritual for rain. It is his next drama after 6 months of finishing tvN drama ‘Let’s Eat 2’. There are reviews that he showed off skills accumulated from various dramas by selecting the one-act drama as a new work.
Yoon Du Jun in the drama expressed serious features as a King by speaking perfect historical way of speaking but in the other hand he showed cute comic acting like misunderstanding triangular gimbap as a bomb and showing ‘Tteok-bokki eating show’ while disregarding his honor. He presented perfect acting and made people laugh out loud. In particular, at the end of the drama, he ran and came to catch Dan-bi who promised to leave when it rains and confessed his mind with the sound of pounding heart. This scene also made the viewers’ heart flutter and became the best scene of the first episode.

Although it was Yoon Du Jun’s first historical drama, he proved his great acting skills through detailed character analysis. Therefore he is receiving good reviews from the drama fans. It is said the existence of Yoon Du Jun in the unique development of fantasy drama ‘Splash Splash Love’ has a probability itself.
Yoon Du Jun who proved himself as a powerful actor of ‘romantic comedy’ genre followed by previous drama is accumulating the skills in a calm and orderly way by showing the possibility of growth as a next generation’s ‘Romantic Comedy King’ who can act for historical, romantic and action dramas all. People are paying attention towards whether Yoon Du Jun the ‘female heart stealer’ Lee Do can complete the dreamlike love story with a girl from the future in the last episode scheduled to air next week or not.
Meanwhile, the ‘Splash Splash Love’ starring Yoon Du Jun is two episodes of fantasy romance drama about 3rd year high school student Jang Dan-bi who fall down to Joseon because of the rain and the king of Joseon Lee Do. This drama pre-released the web version through NAVER TVcast reached over 850,000 views and aired first episode on December 13. The final episode will be aired at 12:05 am on December 20. / nyc@osen.co.kr

Beast, best K-Pop band, finally coming back to Manila in March 2016

BEAST in Manila 2016

THE LONG wait is over.

Beast, arguably the best Korean pop (K-Pop) music act in the world today, is finally making its return to the Philippines.

Beast will hold a “fan meeting” on March 19, 2016, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.

The event will be made possible by Cube Entertainment, Beast’s agency, and by Butterfly and All Access Productions from the Philippines.

According to All Access Productions managing director Doc de los Santos, the event will be all about fan interaction in which the audience will not only get to enjoy the impeccable and powerful live performance of Beast, but even play games with the members, pose for photos and more.

The response via social media has been very good, De los Santos said.

“Filipino fans have really been clamoring for a long time to see them,” he added.

Making the fan meeting all the more important is that it could very well be the last public activity of the group before members enlist in the Korean military for compulsory national service, said De los Santos.

Fans will have the opportunity to vote via social media the songs they want to watch Beast perform.
Who knows, Beast will even sing a Tagalog song, the promoter added.

Pre-selling for tickets will be on the first week of January.

K-Pop legend

The last time the sextet was in the Philippines—in 2010—it was just a rookie act.

But on March 19, 2016, Beast will return as a multi-awarded K-Pop legend with a fan base reaching as far as Europe, North and South Americas, Asia Minor and the Middle East, even Central Asia.

In Southeast Asia, Beast is firmly entrenched as a musical act against whom One Direction and Justin Bieber combined could hardly measure.

This year alone, Beast held fan meetings in Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore.

Last month, it held fan meetings in Australia.

Beast is highly acclaimed for the variety and brilliance of its discography, whose songs the boy band performs flawlessly on stage, often sounding better than the recording.

Beast’s vocalists Jang Hyunseung and Yang Yoseob are considered among the best singers in the K-Pop world.

In 2013, Grammy-winning soprano Jo Sumi asked Yang Yoseob to sing a duet with her in a concert.

This year, Yang was the only K-Pop star the diva invited to record for her new album.

Beast members are also known for their good looks, with leader Yon Dojoon often called in the Korean media as the “national boyfriend;” dancer-singer Lee Kikwang having a million Twitter and Instagram followers; and youngest member Son Dongwoon, who had stayed for a year in the Philippines prior to Beast to learn English, often called as “son nam shin” or a “god-man” and a “work of art.”

Aside from their charismatic stage presence, Beast is also well-loved for its humor and humility.

10 Things We Learned From the BEAST “Ordinary” Fan Meet in Sydney

Hello Asia! has been focusing on the best in Asian Music and Culture since 2012. Based in Australia, HA! brings their unique perspective to events from Korea to Hong Kong, Japan to Taiwan and the greater Asian region. Edited by Australian industry veteran Johnny Au, Hello Asia! is one of the region’s most read digital publications and part of the AU review network. Here, writer Chantelle Yeung recalls her experience with BEAST in Australia.

K-pop group BEAST touched down in Sydney for the next leg of their ‘Ordinary’ Fan Meet after a 4-year wait and it was a pretty sweet reunion between the members and their (very patient) fans, Beauties. In the meantime, the very talented boys taught me a thing or two about what it means to see them in the flesh.

10Hyunseung never stops dancing.
Like, ever. He was constantly improvising during other member’s parts, showing Beauties why he is part of BEAST’s dance line.

9. Kikwang is king of fanservice.
Although all of the members were extremely friendly Kikwang definitely went the extra mile to show his love for Beauties as he smiled and waved for photos, went close to the pit, sent hearts and a sweat towel flying into the audience and even shared a water bottle with a lucky chosen fan during one of the games! Cue my melting heart.

8. The beauty of Yoseob’s hands is real.
Often mentioned in online compilation posts of beautiful idol hands, I’m sure the fans who came along to the hi-touch event would agree!

7. Yoseob is also good at darts.
Goes to show that you can’t know everything about your faves..? Yoseob was able to pop all three balloons with ease during the darts game, winning prizes for Beauties!

6. Shock is everyone’s jam.
Every day. Every night.

5. The boys are always willing to try something new.
The members all made an effort to speak in English even though there was a translator (we appreciate it!) and seemed to be having a blast throughout the games.

4. Face massaging rollers are really fascinating.
According to Yoseob and Dongwoon anyway. One of the prizes to be won during the dart game, the pair were enthusiastically massaging their own and other members’ faces.

3. Humming Australian songs and nursery rhymes is hard.
Sorry! Kikwang’s rendition of ‘One Potato, Two Potatoes’ was pretty stunning though – as he said, he is indeed a good listener!

2. Their live performance is on point.
But I guess you all knew that right? ‘Nuff said.

1. The four-year wait was worth it.
But let’s hope that it won’t be so long before we see you again BEAST!

Who were the most popular boy groups of each year?

There are many popular boy groups out there and we all have our bias groups, but which boy group was the most popular group of each year? One Korean netizen made a community post on Instiz about just that, titled 'The Best Male Idol Group from Each Year (2007-2015)'.

It's been getting a ton of attention with a ton of comments from other netizens, with many people proud of their bias group for making the list, while others also got a bit nostalgic.

Without further ado, here's the list from 2007 to 2015 (these photos are the same ones used in the original post):

2007: TVXQ

2008: Big Bang

2009: 2PM

2010: SHINee

2011: B2ST

2012: INFINITE

2013: EXO

2014: EXO

2015: BTS

Do you agree with this list? And don't forget in the end, all of these groups are still popular and this is just one netizen's opinion.
