[NEWS] KBS to Air Corrective Report Regarding BEAST Junhyung's Past Comments About Ex-Company CEO

KBS has been asked to take corrective measures after failing to filter through broadcast content of comments made by BEAST’s Junhyung regarding his ex-company’s CEO.

According to laws from the Seoul High Court, KBS was requested to air a corrective report through their entertainment program “Entertainment Weekly” regarding Junhyung’s comment about his ex-company’s CEO, Mr. Kim.

The panel of judges stated, “Even though it is difficult for us to confirm if the comments made by Yong Junhyung are false, it is also difficult to for us to confirm if they were true. Thus, we request that Mr. Kim’s side of the story be also conveyed to the public."

BEAST’s Junhyung had said in an appearance on KBS’s "Win Win” that he had “felt threatened” by his ex-company’s CEO. His comments also appeared in KBS’s"Entertainment Weekly" at a later time.

His ex-company’s CEO, Mr. Kim, claimed that these comments were false and filed a lawsuit for KBS to make corrective reports regarding this matter. At the time, KBS claimed that it was not directly specified that the person Junhyung was mentioning was in fact Mr. Kim, and that the broadcast material was the truth.

Now, “Entertainment Weekly” has 7 days to broadcast a corrective report containing the following material: “Junhyung had only taken an absence without leave at the time, and that it was not the truth that he had quit the company. And it is also not true that the ex-company’s CEO had threatened him and broke a bottle in the process.”

KBS has since stated that it will check with all parties involved in any broadcast content before airing it.

In other news, Junhyung is currently busy preparing for promotions for BEAST’s new Japanese album, “[BEAST JAPAN BEST].” In preparation for this release, BEAST unveiled the music video for a new Japanese song titled “More Than You Think.”
